Kochhaus: Walk-in Recipe Book opens in Hamburg

An entirely new shopping experience for food lovers comes care of the “Kochhaus” in St. Georg in Hamburg: On 3 December the “walk-in cookbook” opened its doors for the first time and has since then announced its own aspiration featuring the slogan “Life’s too short for poor eating” on its glazed front.

Right on the busy “Lange Reihe” shopping mile cooking enthusiasts can now find ever-new inspiration. Because unlike other supermarkets “Kochhaus” does not assort its foodstuffs by merchandise groups but by recipe: broken down into starters, main courses and desserts – for two, four or more eaters.

An extraordinary concept that eases shopping: because all recipes are explained step by step with lots of illustrations on large boards. Additionally, the current dishes are also available printed out on flyers or as downloads. The fresh ingredients for the approximately 20 constantly changing recipes can be found on individual tables.

At “Kochhaus” both home-cooking enthusiasts and ambitious amateur chefs can find fresh ideas time and again. The Hamburg outlet is already the third food store to be opened by Kochhaus GmbH, after two shops in Berlin.

The store design was developed by bfs d Flachsbarth Schulz, while realisation of the Hamburg store came care of Hoffmann Ladenbau.
