Kösters: Haus für Wohnkultur – Finer Living Newly Staged

Looking back on a long tradition this Münster-based retail store also relied on Westphalian quality craftsmanship when selecting its project partners: design and project planning came care of Behet Bondzio Lin Architects from Münster while Hoffmann Ladenbau from Rosendahl-Holtwick was entrusted with the production of exclusive one-offs.

Just in Time: for the imminent holiday season Kösters invites shoppers to an exclusive buying spree with a new image. From May to late September shoppers were able to witness the re-design of the Kösters store “live“. Because despite major changes to the sales areas “we did not close down a single day,” says Wiegand Kösters, who manages the company with his cousin Jan Eismann, praising his employees.

In line with the motto Tradition meets Modernity the entrance area, in particular, was given a face-lift, as Jan Eismann prefers to put it. Shoppers are invited by big shop windows to enter into the bright, light-flooded sales area. The checkout facility, which was customised at Hoffmann Ladenbau’s facility, makes a statement with its indirectly illuminated plinth.

The tradition-rich retail company has been managed by the Kösters family for four generations now. Here patrons find exclusive chinaware and valuable antiques alongside state-of-the-art kitchen utensils, handbags and extraordinary decorations in sync with the season. To ensure optimal impact for any purchased items for under the Christmas tree Kösters offers its shoppers a special wrapping service. This service station as well as the decorative wall elements with indirect lighting in the shop window also come care of Hoffmann Ladenbau. Perfectly prepared, Kösters can now kick-off the pre-Christmas season in style.
