Görtz Store Opens in Graz

In March 2010 a new GÖRTZ outlet opened at the Kastner & Öhler fashion house in Graz. Ulrich Volp, supervisor of the GÖRTZ architectural team, was responsible for the design. Hoffmann Ladenbau was commissioned with the production and assembly of the exclusive interior.

Kastner and Öhler is one of the ten largest fashion retail businesses in Austria. The tradition-rich house on Sackgasse 7-13 is the top address for exclusive fashion labels in Graz, and is currently undergoing a large-scale renovation that is taking place in several construction phases. With the first phase, completed in March 2010, the new GÖRTZ outlet on the second floor opened its doors.

Menswear and womenswear from the GÖRTZ Premium, Casual and City categories are presented on 370 square metres of sales area. With its combination of various laminate surfaces, the roughly 17-metre long wall system in the Premium area is a special eyecatcher. Next to white and brown shades, golden Plexiglas rectangular prisms are combined with foil-block sheets that remind one of Austrian Jugendstil artist Gustav Klimt's works. This premium look is also reflected in the floral laminate patterns and bronze-coloured bezels. The shoe styles are presented on individual glass shelves or pedestals of dark wodego veneer. Mounted above the wall are rectangular logo boxes lined with a golden frame, making the logos shine brightly.

Also produced by Hoffmann Ladenbau were presentation islands and square dividing walls, on which bags and accessories are presented. Lounge areas consisting of red leather cube seats and elegantly designed mirror structures provide an inviting setting for trying on shoes. The focus walls in the men's area are characterised by a bold topan blue. The peculiarity here is that they are constructed of deep-dyed MDF. Anyone venturing toward the cash registers will find this same material again: On the sides of the cash till area rear wall, which displays a large GÖRTZ logo, are two additional decorative wall panels in this royal hue.
